Making Connections Outside of ENG 110

I’ve been playing hockey since I was 7, it has always been my passion and I love playing the game. Hockey is an important aspect of my life because it something I take very seriously and I want to be the best I can be. Hockey is a tough sport and everything is not always perfect. You have to work hard everyday to maintain your work ethic. There are a lot of positives and negatives along the way playing hockey. I remember when I was younger I wasn’t that good and everyone else was bigger and stronger then me. But when I got older I got smarter because I knew I wasn’t going to be the biggest player out on the ice. Hockey is an all season sport for me. I spend the offseason working out and skating every week. I still want to get better as a player and I’m looking to get better everyday. When I was 16 I decided to not play high school hockey because I wanted to play at a better completion. It was called Juniors where there are much older players I would be playing against. The first year was good but It was tough playing out there with older players. I knew I had to be better on the ice for next year. The next year I ended up being the scoring leader and MVP of the league. I worked so hard to be better as a person and a player on and off the ice. I am so dedicated to the sport of hockey and I want to continue to play after college. If you want to be better at something it doesn’t happen overnight. Its a process and if you focus and work hard everyday you will achieve your goals. This is the same thing of writing. Writing is a process and a paper is never perfect. You have to practice to be a better writer. The more you write and create good habits the better writer you will be.
